OpenBots is the Zero-License Automation Suite with Commercial Support & Services

Ashish Nangla by Ashish Nangla - December 3, 2020

We know that RPA platforms don’t save any transactional data other than what is generated by the Bot. RPA is designed to move data through the UI, through an API, or with the support of native RPA connectors. In contrast, most systems of record store transactional data and provide workflows and rules on top of that transactional data which are specific to certain businesses or industries.

In our earlier articles, we discussed why RPA was meant to be free. In essence, RPA is a generic UI automation and integration technology which is destined to be commoditized very quickly. However, the OpenBots team believes that core RPA should be free, open source, and widely available to anyone, and that the value comes from building products and services on top of the open core RPA – this is why OpenBots’ core RPA suite is completely free and open source. OpenBots open core software includes OpenBots Studio for building RPA Bots as well as OpenBots Server which is a robust tool for hosting, orchestrating, and scheduling multiple process automations in an enterprise.

OpenBots product suite also includes a SAAS-based OpenBots Discovery product which is designed for business analysts and business users to assess, track, and manage enterprise automations. OpenBots Discovery also acts as the master repository for Process Definition Documents, meaning you will never need to manage PDD documents outside of the system.

Other upcoming products include OpenBots Documents, a SAAS-based intelligent document processing system capable of processing, extracting, and classifying data from unstructured documents. OpenBots Documents will support multiple OCR systems including some of the leading OCR products from  Amazon and Microsoft. The product also supports a robust API to be seamlessly integrated within your existing tech stack.

OpenBots is the only RPA product suite with a true open source core, enabling you to build your own RPA automation program and competence center without committing to large license costs and contracts.
