Platform Components
OpenBots is an RPA platform which enables enterprises to build and deploy automations with Zero licensing costs. The core platform can be downloaded from the OpenBots website and can be installed on-premise or cloud.
The core platform consists of all the necessary tools to develop, run and manage automations. It consists of the following components.
OpenBots Studio is the build component which provides an IDE with rich features that enable automation developers to build automations in a low/no code environment. You would typically have one studio environment for each developer that is part of your automation practice.
OpenBots Agent is the runtime agent which sits on a desktop or a virtual machine and executes the automation steps in the deployed automation package. The agents are configured and connects to one central OpenBots Server. The automation packages can be published on the Agent machine by OpenBots Server or the local Studio instance deployed on the same machine. Agents also give an interface for Studio on the same machine to publish the automations to OpenBots Server.
OpenBots Server is the control center which is used for orchestration and management of all automations in the enterprise. The automations are published on the server and can then be sent to different agents for running the processes. You are able to manage agents and automations with server capabilities that give access to scheduling, jobs, assets, queues, logs, credentials and many other features.
The following lessons in this course will provide different configuration and setup tutorials for these three OpenBots components.
