Introduction
There is currently no single, industry-wide definition of what a Digital
Workforce is, which makes the concept harder to grasp. There is some
agreement among the major RPA vendors that a digital workforce is a
software-based labor that can perform specific tasks.
Clearly, the intent of a Digital Workforce is to execute complex and end to
end processes and workflows. This requires multiple skills, and those
skills are beyond what simple RPA tools have been capable of.
From my perspective, a Digital Workforce is multiskilled software-based
labor that can independently execute across a useful scope of work
meaningful parts of complex, end-to-end processes.
