Documents with GPT AI Tool Updates: A Quick Overview

Jason Dzamba by Jason Dzamba - October 16, 2023

We released several notable features with the most recent version of Documents with GPT, primarily focusing on an extensive user interface (UI) overhaul.

This article delves into the key improvements that have made working with our AI tool more seamless and efficient.

UI Refresh: Tailored to User Feedback

Documents with GPT continues to refine its UI based on valuable user feedback in line with our commitment to user satisfaction. This release brings a dedicated tab for the chat, situated on the right panel, and an overall refresh aimed at enhancing the readability of the platform.

You can see these updates in the following video starting at 1 hr and 06 minutes.

Condensed Data Fields

A significant part of the UI update involves condensing data fields, designed to minimize the need for excessive scrolling when viewing documents. This feature optimizes the user experience and streamlines document handling.

New Functionalities

The latest version introduces a range of new functions, allowing users to interact with their documents more flexibly. Notable additions include sentiment analysis, face detection, redaction, and the extraction of barcodes and QR codes.

Running Features Upfront

This release prioritizes efficiency by running various features upfront on your document. This streamlined process simplifies tasks like table detection and exploring entity relationships in your documents.

Auto-Rotation Correction

Document orientation has been a common concern, and this release addresses it with an auto-rotation correction feature. The system now automatically attempts to orient documents correctly upon upload.

Migrated Legacy Features

Certain legacy features have been migrated to the new UI. These include viewing due dates, task queues, case record details, and the ability to edit and review documents. These additions enhance the completeness and convenience of document processing.

OpenBots Studio Connection

The functions available in the OpenBots Studio are closely tied to the OpenBots platform commands. We continuously add new functions with each iterative cloud release. We expect to add even more in the following weeks and months.

Object and Shape Detection

We’ve added object and shape detection, which are handy for documents with images, ensuring the presence of specific logos or essential elements, such as photographs, on various document types.

Understanding Sentiment vs. Emotion Analysis

You can process your data and instantly understand the underlying emotions within them. Sentiment analysis categorizes text into neutral, positive, or negative, making it ideal for sorting documents based on sentiment.

In contrast, emotion analysis delves deeper, recognizing specific emotions such as happiness, sadness, or anger, making it suitable for understanding the emotional nuances within text data.

Ongoing Improvements and Frequent Updates

Documents with GPT is committed to continuous improvement, with updates scheduled approximately every other week. This rapid release cadence ensures the platform can promptly respond to user feedback and swiftly implement new features. Updates are often tailored to meet specific customer requirements, making the system adaptable to various use cases.

Anticipating OpenBots Studio Version

The OpenBots Studio is preparing for the highly anticipated release. Based on extensive feedback from partners and clients, this update promises a polished developer experience and aims to deliver the features users have longed for.

Conclusion

The recent enhancements in the Document AI release signify a dedicated commitment to continuous improvement and a strong desire to effectively meet user needs and expectations.

With an improved UI, many new functionalities, and a responsive approach to updates, Document AI continues evolving to cater to diverse document processing requirements.
