Objective
The objective of this How-To guide is to assist users in duplicating (Copying) and deleting files in OpenBots. Most processes require access to different files from the system to perform operations on them.
Walkthrough

The following are the steps involved in duplicating & deleting files and folders in OpenBots. It is a procedure that involves click level operations from the Files and Folders command list.

Step 1: Create a new folder where the files would be copied (duplicated). Create folder command can be used to perform the action. It creates a new empty folder at the specified location.
  • Select Create Folder Command
  • Enter the name of the folder to be created (NewFolder)
  • Set the directory for the new folder
  • Delete existing folder with the same name (No)
  • Click OK
Step 2: After creating the new folder to store the files, the user needs to copy the files from the source folder to the newly created folder. Move/Copy File command copies or moves the file as per requirement from source to destination folder.
  • Select Move/Copy File Command
  • Select the file operation (Copy)
  • Browse the source file path
  • Browse the destination file path
  • Choose to create a new folder or not (No)
  • Overwrite file (if present, No)
  • Click OK
Step 3: After moving the duplicate to the new folder, delete the original file in the root folder. Delete file command is used to delete one file at a time.
  • Select Delete File Command
  • Browse the file path to delete
  • Click OK
Step 4: After deleting the file in the root folder, the root folder must also be deleted to avoid any conflicts with other folders. Delete folder command is used to delete a complete folder from the system.
  • Select Delete Folder Command
  • Browse the folder path to be deleted
  • Click OK
The files and folder operations are usually combined with other programs or operations on different units. These operations provide efficient files and folder handling in processes.

All the commands in this guide can be utilized alongside many of the other commands that will be discussed in later guides to perform several operations with files and folders. Below is a snapshot of the process discussed in the guide.

Commands utilized for the above concept (Duplication & Deletion) are as follows:

Files Commands: Move/Copy File, Delete File

Folder Commands: Create Folder, Delete Folder
